Getting Tattooed on Manor Road: Our Corner of East Austin

Journal / Neighborhood

June 12, 2026

We could have set up anywhere in Austin. We chose Manor Road — and if you've spent time on this stretch of the East Side, you understand why.

Manor Road, the creative corner

Our studio sits at 3219 Manor Rd, right in the middle of one of East Austin's best-loved strips. Manor Road's Restaurant Row — spots like Salty Sow and Patrizi's — has drawn Austinites east for years, and the street keeps getting more of a neighborhood-first identity. In May 2026 the businesses along Manor Road threw the inaugural May Day Festival, a progressive block party celebrating exactly the kind of local, walkable, creative community we wanted to be part of. This isn't a strip-mall tattoo shop off the highway. It's a studio in a neighborhood that actually has a pulse.

Rooted in the East Side

We're in the 78723, in the French Place / Cherrywood pocket — oak-lined streets, vintage bungalows, murals, and one of the most genuinely artistic communities in the city. Just north and west of us is the Six Square district, Austin's Black cultural heritage district, anchored by historic sites that have shaped the East Side's identity for generations. East Austin has changed a lot, but its creative spirit — the thing that made it a magnet for artists in the first place — is still the reason people cross I-35 to get here.

Why neighborhood matters for a tattoo

A tattoo isn't a quick errand. A good piece means a consultation, a session that might run hours, and a relationship with an artist you trust. Being part of a real neighborhood means you can make a day of it — grab food on Manor Road before or after, take your time, and treat the whole thing like the experience it should be. We're appointment-first for exactly that reason: we'd rather give you our full focus than rush a walk-in line.

Come find us

We're an easy hop from downtown — East Austin sits just minutes across I-35 — and parking on Manor Road is far less of a fight than anywhere central. Whether it's your first tattoo or your fifteenth, you'll get artists who care about the craft, in a part of town that cares about its character.
